Letter to investors, week 20
Ras Al Khaimah, May 16, 2026
Dear investors,
The week from 11 to 17 May closes with +8.7% on the master account, approximately +6% for you net of the fee, with no negative days. The market changed tone: US inflation above expectations and producer prices at 6% brought the prospect of a rate hike back onto the table, and gold lost more than 3%. Also worth noting is the decision by India, one of the largest buyers of physical gold, to more than double its import duties. The inflation day (Tuesday, +1.9%) and the producer price day (Wednesday, +1.0%) were handled without upheaval; the best was Thursday (+2.9%). Five positive days in a market that lost more than 3%.
We wish you a good week.
With kind regards,
Duemar International Duemar International FZ-LLC, Ras Al Khaimah
