Letter to investors, week 18
Ras Al Khaimah, May 2, 2026
Dear investors,
We write to you candidly: the week from 27 April to 3 May closes at a loss, −8.3% on the master account. The loss comes from a single day, Wednesday 29 April, the day of the Federal Reserve meeting. A decision more divided than at any time since 1992, a rising dollar and rising yields, and a fall in gold of about one hundred dollars in the US afternoon produced −11.5% in one session. The loss was incurred on Wednesday, after the Fed statement, when gold fell by about one hundred dollars within a few hours in a single direction. Monday and Tuesday had been positive (+1.0% and +2.7%). On Wednesday afternoon, after the statement, the price moved for a long time in the same direction without the retracements on which the strategy builds most of its trades. The positions opened during that phase accumulated losses, and they were closed when the daily risk limit was reached. After the loss the account did not trade on Thursday 30 and Friday 1 May. After a loss of this magnitude we chose to halt the account for two days, review the parameters and resume only with a clear picture.
No fee accrued on this week. None will accrue until the account returns to its previous high: this is the mechanism that protects your capital.
For the week ahead we wish you all serenity. We will keep you informed of every development.
With kind regards,
Duemar International Duemar International FZ-LLC, Ras Al Khaimah
