Letter to investors, week 5
Ras Al Khaimah, January 31, 2026
Dear investors,
The week from 26 January to 1 February will go down in the history books of the gold market: a record above $5,500 on Thursday and, on Friday, the sharpest daily fall since 1983, about 10%, after the nomination of the new Chair of the Federal Reserve. The master account closes the week at +13.4%, approximately +9% for you, with no losing days. On Friday 30, the day of gold's sharpest fall since 1983, the account closed at +1.8%, the most modest session of the week. The other four days ranged between 2.3% and 3.4%. The strategy's positions remain open for very short periods, and on a day like Friday this limits exposure to a prolonged move: the account continued to trade, but with more modest results, which is what we expect from its risk limits in a falling market.
Weeks like this remind us why risk management comes before everything else. We wish you a calmer week.
With kind regards,
Duemar International Duemar International FZ-LLC, Ras Al Khaimah
