Letter to investors, week 23

Dear investors,

The week from 1 to 7 June closes with +5.2% on the master account and about +4% for you, over four trading days. A stronger-than-expected US labour market has made a rate hike within the year more likely, and gold fell to its lowest levels since late March. On Monday 1 June the account did not trade. After a weekend of negative news on the talks with Iran, on Monday the account stayed idle, waiting for the market to find its balance. On the other four days returns were all below 2%, between 0.9% and 1.7%, the most modest since launch. On Friday, the day of the employment data, +1.0%.

Next week sees the release of US inflation for May, one of the figures we follow most closely. We wish you a good week.

With kind regards,

Duemar International Duemar International FZ-LLC, Ras Al Khaimah

  • Monday More than −1%; Iran suspends the exchange of messages with Washington.
  • Wednesday 3 New US strikes.
  • Friday 5 May employment +172k against 85k expected. The market prices in a probability of about 70% of a rate hike by year-end.

Figures are calculated from the master account’s daily returns. The copier estimate applies the 30% fee to each week’s new profits above the previous high: the platform’s own calculation may differ.
